The Porch Room Located in the newer wing of the house, the Porch Room is for you if you’re the outdoorsy type. This room gives the impression of being not quite all the way indoors. Its queen four-post bed is canopied in part by an old cedar-shingled roof, the remains of the original eave line. The bed shelters beneath an airy vaulted ceiling, surrounded by four windows that open on our sprawling fields and meadow. Wake up refreshed, to lots of morning light streaming in on the quilted coverlet, illuminating the antique dresser and random-width hickory flooring. The Porch Room’s private bath continues the “almost-outside” feeling with its vaulted ceiling skylight and stone floor. We think you’ll really like the bright atmosphere, and are especially proud of the custom-made vanity from a master New England furniture maker.
