The Parlor

The Parlor is not a “high formal” parlor, but a comfortable sitting room where you can enjoy the warmth of a large, open hearth and some good conversation to the background of soft music. When you’re in this room, you’re back in the 1740s. Then, this was the single first-floor room — a combination kitchen and living room — as in all farmhouses of the time. It was where the fire and conversation were, and where everyone gathered for warmth and companionship. We like to think it serves much the same purpose today.
