An intimate front porch (above) has an inviting suspended swing and two wooden rocking chairs. Listen closely. In the Spring -at dusk-you can hear our Frog Hollow peepers- just out of hibernation. The old front porch is the hangout of Ricky and Misty, two of our long residing felines. It is also the location of the original hand-drawn water pump that, after of these years, is still functional!
This large outside deck is off the kitchen, with plenty of comfortable outdoor seating for casual conversations, reading or simply relaxing in front of the expansive view of our backyard. Weather permitting, the deck is where we serve afternoon refreshments; sun tea in warmer weather, and mulled cider when it’s cool. The deck features an electrically operated awning that provides shade from the sun and coziness from the rain.
Exit from the Sun Room and find yourself on a small front porch furnished with an antique bench, two chairs, a small glass topped table and a colorful pebble-lined cement cherub fountain. A great vantage spot to watch the neighbors two horses frolicking in the meadow and the dozens of deer grazing in the early morning sun and late afternoon shade. Not a bad place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the a.m., an afternoon lemonade or a before dinner glass of wine..
